A PLAIN GUIDE
Clear from the start
What to expect with a new mountain business website
A clear scope, a site that works on a phone, and a website you own.
Clients pay a website setup fee and select a monthly package. A website typically takes one to two weeks, depending on the project and finishing the knowledge-base interviews. You own the website, the domain, and the content, and you keep the site if you part ways.
A setup fee, then a monthly plan
Clients pay a website setup fee and select a monthly service package. Website builds are quoted separately. Monthly plans are separate.
After the build, monthly plans run from $159 a month to $949 a month. The plans are numbered by how many new pages are written and added each month. Plan 1 is one new page a month. Plan 10 is ten. From Plan 2 up, each plan includes everything in the plan before it, plus what is listed for that plan. Plans 1 through 3 are Website Care. Plans 4 through 6 are Growth. Plans 7 through 10 are Full Care.
Plans 1 through 3 are month-to-month. You can cancel with 30 days' written notice. Plans 4 through 10 are a 12-month commitment, billed monthly. After the first year, the plan continues month-to-month. There is no automatic yearly renewal. An upgrade starts a new 12-month term.
The Includes list for every plan is on pricing.
One to two weeks
A website typically takes one to two weeks, depending on the project and finishing the knowledge-base interviews.
Here's the deal. That timing depends on the project and on finishing those interviews. Phone care is on every plan, from Plan 1 through Plan 10. When your input is needed, you get a short set of questions and a number to call. You call when it suits you, give your name and business, and talk the way you would to a customer. A friendly phone assistant goes through the questions one at a time. It reads a short answer drafted ahead of time and asks if it is right, what you would change, and whether you have a real example. A set is about six questions, roughly 10 to 15 minutes, and you can stop early. Answering by email works too. Your answers become the page in your own words. Nothing is published until Mark reviews and approves it.
You confirm the business facts and provide the materials, permissions, access, and approvals the project needs. Missing information may affect delivery of the related pages. The build pays attention to speed, mobile use, easy upkeep, and making the site easy for search engines to read. The work uses the platform Mark builds and supports.
How a mountain business website is scoped is on web development.
How those phone interviews fill the website is in knowledge-base interviews for your website.
Why the work stays on the platform he builds and supports is in why one website platform.
You own the website
The client owns the website, the domain, and the content. You also own your Google and social accounts. You receive access to the GitHub repository and information about the software used to build the website. You keep the website if you part ways.
Domain registration and renewal stay separate from the monthly plan unless the agreement includes them.
What the monthly plan includes
Plan 1 is $159 a month. It includes reliable website hosting, security updates and ongoing maintenance, speed and performance checks, technical SEO health checks, on-page SEO for every new page, one new page written and added each month, phone care, and a plain-English monthly report. From Plan 2 up, those pieces stay in the plan, and each higher plan adds what is listed for it.
Every plan gets a plain-English monthly report. It has a log of the work actually done, knowledge-base gap recommendations, and an updated action roadmap. A monthly look at visitor numbers with simple next steps starts at Plan 3. A deeper analytics review starts at Plan 6. Finished work stays separate from recommendations, work in progress, and things waiting on your approval. A button click is not reported as a confirmed lead or sale.
A standard page can be a service page, a useful location page, a product-information page, an FAQ page, or an article, built within the existing website design. Each one includes topic research, writing based on confirmed information about the business, formatting, internal links, page titles and descriptions, placing approved images, and one consolidated round of revisions. Location pages have to contain useful information about that area and the places you actually serve. Custom designs, interactive features, big research projects, and major changes to an approved topic are scoped separately.
Plans 4 through 6 include Google Business Profile setup and 2 posts a month. Plans 7 through 10 include ongoing management with 4 posts a month. Plans 1 through 3 leave Google Business Profile work off the plan.
On Plans 1 through 5, an in-person website review is $200 per session. Plans 6 through 10 include one in-person review each year, within the agreed service area. Mark is in the San Bernardino Mountains Tuesday through Friday for in-person consulting, with a strong focus on Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead. The review covers business goals, the work that has been done, the analytics on hand, how the site is performing, content ideas, and the inquiries coming in. You leave with a written roadmap: recommended improvements, priorities, knowledge gaps, and next steps. A recommendation outside the selected plan is listed separately.
What stays separate
The monthly plan is separate from the setup fee. Website builds are quoted separately. These also stay separate unless they are written into the agreement: off-site campaigns, Google Ads campaigns and the ad budget, domain registration and renewal, paid advertising, third-party subscriptions, custom integrations, booking systems, e-commerce functionality, photography, purchased images, extensive editing, 360-degree virtual tours, major repairs, incident recovery, infrastructure changes, and custom development.
Routine hosting work, security maintenance, and minor technical fixes are included within the agreed scope. Security maintenance lowers the risk. It cannot promise the site will never go down or never have a security problem.
When you are ready, optional add-ons can include review growth and help responding to reviews, social media management including short videos, email newsletters, and paid local ads. Paid local ads need your approval on spending. The pricing page does not list prices for these add-ons.
What is not promised
Rankings, indexing, AI recommendations, traffic, leads, bookings, sales, and revenue are not guaranteed. Each plan covers the agreed scope. It is not unlimited revisions, development, or consulting. The job is to make the business easier to find and to make it easier for customers to get in touch.
