A PLAIN GUIDE
A monthly work log, in plain words
How you know what work was done
A plain answer to a question owners ask a lot: how do I know what I’m paying for each month?
You get a monthly work log. It lists what Mark Kendrick changed on your site, with links where useful, and how each task ties to the plan. Analytics and Search Console help show whether the work is helping. No ranking is promised. Call (909) 443-2260.
Why Mark keeps a work log
Mark has had clients who did not clearly understand what he was doing. That taught him to make the work easy to see.
Here’s the deal. Paying for ongoing marketing without knowing what work is being done is a common mistake. You should know which pages were created, what was updated, which problems were fixed, and why each task mattered.
Monthly plans are on pricing.
What the work log shows
The log records the changes made on the website, with links where useful, so you can see what was finished and how it connects to the plan.
Some work happens off the website, like a Google Business Profile or reviews. The plan explains that work too. Mark keeps his own methods private, but you should always understand the purpose and the progress.
Along with the log, Mark gives recommendations for missing information and photos that would make the site more useful.
What the first months look like is in what to expect when you start SEO.
A log shows the work, tracking shows the results
Real quick. A work log shows what was done. Results tracking helps show whether that work is helping. Both matter.
Search Console helps show how the site appears in search. Website analytics and inquiry tracking help show what visitors do next. A ranking report alone can’t tell the whole story. The goal is real inquiries that turn into customers, wherever that can be tracked.
How to measure your marketing is in how to tell which marketing is working.
What the first week of a job looks like
Real quick. When a job starts, Mark first interviews the owner. Most owners want changes to the site, so the next step is usually a platform that’s easy to change and secure. Heavy sites slow everything down, and the goal is a very fast site.
He works from a checklist, using AI tools to build. He keeps the same URLs and pages and makes them better instead of piling on redirects. He also does thorough research on what’s working and on competitors.
Then the checks keep going. Bots compare competitors’ pages and map rankings with yours every week, and the Google Business Profile gets a weekly look too: hours, daylight saving changes, specials, and happy hour times. All of it goes in the work log.
Keeping the profile current is covered in Google Business Profile for mountain businesses.
What to ask before you pay anyone
Ask what work will be done, how it will be written down, and how results will be checked. Those answers tell you a lot about who you are hiring.
What’s the bottom line. No one can promise a certain Google ranking, a spot in an AI answer, or a set number of leads. You can expect to see what was done each month.
