A REAL JOB
A mountain realtor client, name left off
A real job: an events calendar for a realtor’s website
A real website job: how a local events calendar filled out a mountain realtor’s thin website.
A mountain realtor’s website only listed her own homes, so it looked thin. Mark Kendrick added a local events calendar and “what to do in the mountains” pages for residents and visitors. Those pages started getting traffic even though they aren’t about selling homes. No ranking or sales numbers are claimed. Call (909) 443-2260.
The problem: a site with only listings
Here’s the deal. The site only showed the homes she had for sale. When the listings were few, the whole site looked thin, and there wasn’t much reason for anyone to come back.
What Mark did
He added a local events calendar for residents and visitors: festivals, food, snow, and dog-friendly events. Then he added AI-friendly “what to do in the mountains” pages and social posts that point back to them.
Real quick. Mountain seasons matter here. There are four to five months of snow, then summer, boating, patios, and fireplaces. Pages for each season give people something to find when they search for that time of year.
Seasonal pages are covered in season-by-season marketing.
What happened
Those pages started getting traffic, even though they aren’t about selling homes. They reach people who are thinking about a second home or a move up the hill, before they’re ready to call a realtor.
Mark doesn’t have numbers to share here, so this page doesn’t give any.
Second-home owners are covered in marketing to second-home owners.
What Mark took from it
Some clients live on tourist traffic, and some live on locals. A realtor needs both, and useful local pages can reach both.
What’s the bottom line. Real owner experience is one of the biggest ways to stand out from sites full of generic AI writing. Mark interviews the owner, AI writes up the questions and answers, and the owner says what’s true and adds what they know.
Real estate websites are covered in websites for real estate agents.
